Nowadays every kitchen has something made of stainless-steel, its durability & ease of maintenance helps it to score over glass and ceramic counterparts. Stainless-steel comes in various grades & options to help us select the right type for our usage, unfortunately as most of us are not aware of this grading , so we end up in buying a wrong one. Through this blog I want to educate the buyers and help them in selecting the right variety of stainless-steel for each application.

Stainless-steel is a corrosion-resistant alloy of iron, chromium and, in some cases, nickel and other metals. It is 100 percent recyclable, easy to sterilize, and due to these qualities it is found in many everyday objects. It also plays a prominent role in an array of industries, including energy, transportation, building, research, medicine, food, and logistics.

Due to huge spectrum of usage, it comes in different grades to meet specific needs, & all forms are not good for cooking. Unfortunately, the sellers don’t share these details and that further adds to the problem. Buying a wrong type of stainless-steel utensils for kitchen can severely impact our health due to metal toxicity. Metal toxicity or metal poisoning is caused by the reaction of food with the metal of container (poor quality steel, Aluminum, copper etc..). While the symptoms of metal poisoning can vary depending on the metal and amount, here are some common ones
Frequent headaches/migraines
Weakness / tiredness
Joint or muscles pains
Liver damage
Kidney damage
Mental health issues
Behavioral issues/mode swings
Memory loss
Horizontal lines on nails
Anemia
Tingling
Miscarriage or premature labor
The table below gives a simplified view of the types of steel we should use in cookware, so when you buy stainless stain look for Steel 18/10 (also called 304 or 316), 18 and 10 are the percentage of chromium and nickel in the steel. This steel is best suited for cooking and will stay for long time as well.

While I hope this blog enables you to make right choice, i am also sure that it would fill your mind with some questions, so let me try to answer the most obvious ones in advance so that you can go ahead and upgrade your cookware without any further delay .
Where can we buy such steel?
Asking shopkeepers may not help as most of them are not aware of all this, also as products made of 18/10 stainless steel are costly so all shopkeepers don’t keep them.
My personal favorite shop for kitchenware is Harris Scarfe, two days ago we got a premium stainless steel set of Swiss Diamond , while the cost was was for $ 659 but we got it for just $ 259 due to ongoing promotion, so if you hurry up you may be able to grab this deal as well. The best part is the product came with lifetime warranty, you can also check the website www.swissdiamond.com . There are many more brands like this & you may go for the one that suits your budget and needs.
How to know if we have metal toxins already?
We can help you identify metal toxins if any by doing a Holistic SCAN. The test will also show if they are in safe limits or high enough to cause health concerns.
What is the safe way to get rid of metal toxins ?
Not only can we help you to get rid of them in a easy and safe way, we can also help you with ways to avoid accumulating them again in future.
